Bring a rare and sophisticated WWII interceptor to your collection with the Hasegawa 1:72 Scale Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien Tony Model Kit. Known to Allied forces as Tony, the Ki-61-I was unique among Japanese fighters for its liquid-cooled inline engine, giving it a streamlined profile and high-speed performance distinct from radial-engine contemporaries. This model captures the aircrafts sleek aerodynamic lines and purposeful stance, reflecting its role as a homeland defender during the final stages of World War II.

Molded in precision injection plastic, this 1997 Hasegawa release showcases refined surface textures and a detailed cockpit interior that enhances realism in 1:72 scale. A standout feature of this edition is the factory-painted canopy, providing sharper framing detail and simplifying one of the most delicate aspects of aircraft modeling. Markings typically represent the renowned 244th Fighter Group, offering historical depth and authenticity to the finished build.

Designed as an unassembled kit requiring paint and glue, it provides a satisfying hands-on project for dedicated hobbyists. Whether displayed alongside other Imperial Japanese Army aircraft or featured in a Pacific Theater lineup, the Ki-61-I Hien remains a distinctive and collectible representation of late-war Japanese aviation engineering.
